Every tree is a commitment to the future

Our tree planting projects are not one-off events. Each tree is planted with a community that commits to caring for it — watering, protecting, and nurturing it until it stands on its own. We work across multiple regions of Puntland, planting species suited to the local climate and chosen for their long-term benefit to communities.

Where We Plant

Four types of planting site

Children planting trees at school

Schools

Trees planted in school grounds give children daily connection to nature, provide shade for outdoor learning, and teach environmental stewardship from a young age.

Mosque with trees and greenery

Masjids

Mosque grounds are community gathering places. Trees planted here provide shade for worshippers, beautify the space, and serve as ongoing Sadaqah Jariyah for the whole community.

Village community under shade tree

Villages & Public Spaces

Community trees in village centres, markets, and public squares create gathering places, reduce heat, and restore the green character that many Puntland communities have lost.

Fruit trees growing at a family home

Family Homes

Families receive saplings to plant in their own compounds — creating personal green spaces, providing fruit and shade, and building a culture of tree care from the household up.

What We Plant

Trees chosen for Puntland's climate

We don't plant just any tree. Every species is selected for its ability to thrive in Puntland's arid conditions and deliver real, lasting benefit to the communities that care for it.

Fruit Trees

Mango, Papaya, Guava, Date Palm

Provide nutritious food for families and communities, supporting food security.

Shade Trees

Neem, Acacia, Sidr

Offer vital cooling shade in Puntland's arid climate for people, animals, and buildings.

Drought-Resistant Species

Moringa, Tamarind, Baobab

Thrive in dry conditions, stabilise soil, and support land restoration in degraded areas.

Our Process

How every tree gets planted

01

Identify Sites

Our local teams work with community leaders to identify the best planting sites — schools, masjids, public spaces, and family homes.

02

Source Saplings

We source healthy, climate-appropriate saplings from local nurseries, prioritising species that thrive in Puntland's arid conditions.

03

Plant Together

Trees are planted in community events, involving local volunteers, students, and families — building ownership and care from day one.

04

Care & Protect

Local volunteers commit to watering and protecting each tree. We provide guidance, tools, and follow-up visits to ensure survival.

05

Report Back

Donors receive updates and photos. Memorial tree recipients receive personalised certificates. Transparency is at the heart of everything we do.

Get Involved

Fund a tree. Change a community.

Every donation plants a real tree in a real community. You can also dedicate a tree as Sadaqah Jariyah in memory of a loved one.
